Courses are typically held at the Bellingham studio. Registration is conducted through BBU, and links to register for all courses are below.

 

February 20th & 21st. BBU Reformer 1 Instructor Training
Prerequisite: 30 Reformer classes or personal training sessions. Anatomy and 3 years of movement teaching experience highly recommended.
Reformer I includes an introduction to the Pilates Reformer including set up and safety, plus beginning exercises, program sequencing and teaching tips for group classes. By the end of the course you will be able to teach a beginning Reformer class or personal training session. Held from 8am- 6pm both days at the Bellingham studio. $499, plus $50 manual fee. March 13th. EXO Chair Tour Day 1

BBU EXO Chair 1 introduces you to the challenges and fun of the Pilates Chair. Learn beginning, intermediate and some advanced level exercises along with set up and safety for clients and classes at any level. The EXO Chair is a versatile piece of Pilates equipment that is small and easy to move. Sample classes, flowing transitions and fun sequences are included to help you start using the EXO Chair the very next day. This class is great for Pilates clients looking for a great home workout as well as instructors who want to expand their Pilates expertise. EXO Chair 1 does not include instruction on the functional resistance kits. $169 which includes manual. From 9am-3pm at the Bellingham studio. Register online
March 14th. EXO Chair Tour Day 2

EXO Chair 2 - For Students Familiar with the Pilates Chair BBU EXO Chair 2 introduces you to the exciting new exercises on the EXO Chair using resistance bands. The bands, also known as functional resistance kits, will expand your exercise library for group classes, personal training or home sessions. The bands allow you to teach essential exercises such as the Roll Down, add arm work for a balanced upper body workout and add challenge to Double Leg Pumps. You will come away from this course with a new appreciation of the Pilates Chair. Instruction on using the split pedal EXO Chair is included.on on the functional resistance kits. $169. 9am -3pm at the Bellingham studio. Register online

March 27th & 28th. BBU Reformer 2 Instructor Training
Prerequisite: BBU Reformer 1.
IReformer II includes intermediate exercises and modifications designed for group and individual instruction. Teaching successful classes and sessions to clients at different levels of ability is emphasized. Included are a variety of programs designed to keep your clients inspired. Held from 8am-5pm at the Bellingham studio. Cost is $399 plus $50 for the course manual. Register online

May 8th & 9th. BBU Reformer 3 Instructor Training
Prerequisite: BBU Reformer 2.
Reformer III includes advanced exercises plus modifications for sports specific activities, tips for training the advanced client and programs designed for specific sports. Held from 8am-4pm at the Bellingham studio. Cost is $399 plus $50 for the course manual. Register online

June 5th & 6th. BBU Apparatus 1 Instructor Training
Prerequisite: BBU Reformer 2.
BBU Pilates Apparatus training completes the full Pilates instructor certification program. Included is the complete repertoire on the Trapeze Table/Cadillac/Tower, the Pilates Chair, the Barrels and small equipment. The series is comprised of three modules. Completing the additional apparatus training gives you a great variety of tools to use when working with clients and qualifies you to take the national Pilates certification exam. Held from 8am-5pm in the Bellingham studio. Cost is $399 plus $150 for the complete set of course manuals. Register online

July 10th and 11th. BBU Apparatus 2 Instructor Training
Prerequisite: Apparatus 1.

Prerequisite: 30 mat classes or personal training sessions. Anatomy and 3 years of movement teaching experience highly recommended.
Mat I includes an introduction to the history and principles of Pilates, beginning and most intermediate level exercises with modifications, lectures on class order and programming in a group setting, and guidelines for teaching seniors, pre-, and post-natal classes.. Held from 8am- 5pm both days at the Bellingham studio. $399, plus $50 manual fee. Register online

October 2nd & 3rd. BBU Mat 2 Instructor Training
Prerequisite: Mat 1.
Mat II includes the remaining intermediate and advanced level exercises as well as essential movement principles and training tips for advancing clients to the higher levels. Pilates for sports specific activities are also covered. Held from 8am- 5pm both days at the Bellingham studio. $399, plus $50 manual fee. Register online
